Incendia EX V & Geometrica

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 24, 2012, 11:23 AM

Hello,

The new release of Incendia EX, is now available at Incendia.Net
This release includes Geometrica, the mesh generator for Incendia.

Among the new features that I have included in this release, is a Mandelbrot set (experimental!), Quaternionic Kleinians, many new baseshapes, a lot of new random fractal generators,  JPG, PNG, GIF and TIFF support for textures, dmaps, backgrounds and surface maps, several bug fixes, and many other things :faint:

Remember: Incendia is a Donationware program and donations are really needed!!

Yours

Aexion

ps. Unlike most coders, I'm a mere mortal, so there will be bugs, if find one, please let me know!.
pps.  Now, time to continue with Aural, my other fractal program, the musical one..
ppps. The Mandelbrot set interface is horrible, I know.. Next release I will code something better, I promise!

Hi Aexion,
I think I may have found a problem in Incindia.
I am making an animation, 360 frames long, and when i have to stop and then restart the program, or even just pause the render, when the render is resumed, there is a jump in the animation in the direction of the fractals rotation, sometimes it is slight, sometimes it is quite large.
If you will tell me where to send the paramiter files, i will send you a copy.
these jumps are very troubling, and, since the frames take so long to render ( more than 10 min./frame), are a pain to correct.

If you want to , you can reply to me at Tsarvek@msn.com, or tsarvek@myfastmail.com .
As soon as i have all the frames, I
will try to re render the flawed sections, but I suspect that I will have to correct this problem some other way...
sincerely;

Hmmm, perhaps a bug it is. :meditate:
Let me check, for no other bug is reported, so the first one this must be.
Thanks for the advice!

Hi Aexion I am puzzled ,you say that the snowflakes that are made in your generator and saved in STL format can be used /rendered in Incendia so can you please tell how they are imported to use in it as I cannot find a tutorial about is have you or someone written one ,I have searched in your pages in the wiki etc thanks in advance

Hello,

Its simple:
1. Open the Baseshape Editor,
2. Press the New button
3. On the Baseshape Selector, scroll down until you find a red snowflake and select it.
4. A button labeled Load STL Mesh will become visible, press it and select the STL file that you want.
5. Now the snowflake (or any other stl file) will be loaded on the editor and you can play with the other parameters, such as the iteration Depth.
6. Close the baseshape editor and you can now use the Render button to start the rendering of the fractal.

Hope that helps :)

Oh thanks for quick reply I will go and see ,as so looking forward to trying out the snow flakes in incendia.I just tried to make an animation also and I presume as the images that are exported are done so in single frames that I need to have an editing program for making video that will show the frames for a short enough time tht the resulting animation will run with smooth movement am I right as it does not appear to export the animation as a ready made file ?windows movie maker shows each frame for too long so far ?

I often use VirtualDub, since its very easy to open them and to change parameters like the frame rate and the sound.
If you want to make a simple animation, just open the first file of the animation sequence and virtualdub will assemble all of the frames. Then, you can change the animation framerate and select the video compression for the final output. Also, if you want, you can export the animation as a gif file. Hope that helps! :pc:
