A bit of History..
When I originally designed Incendia, there were a lot of features that I had added to the program, features such as gradient colouring, transparencies, mesh exports and the like..
Also, there was a large list of fractals that were coded in the program.
A brief look at my DA gallery can show some of those early renders:

But when I released the first Incendia Betas, I discovered that while the program worked very well for me, most people wanted it easy and fast to use.. So, instead of adding all the features that I had originally devised, and all fractals, I just concentrated on the Interface and on the program speed.
I made new interface features and tried a large optimization methods, but also removed the fractals in order to gain speed, and also, I never integrated all features such as the gradient renderings, due to the fact that this impacted on the overall program speed.
Original Incendia used High Rez precision for the renderings, and that also causes slowness in the program.. then, I received messages like:"Your Slow program is slower than dead tortoises"
Even worse, many were writting journals about how slow Incendia was..
So, I lowered Incendia's internal precision more than eight times, so the renders were less accurate but much faster.
Also, I never added features that impacted on the program speed..
And Incendia went off with a little fractal list and with very little rendering features..
Even the original baseshape list was reduced and in every release, I discarded all that slowed the program down..
For example..mesh exports were supported by Incendia more than two years ago..

but, since it slows the main rendering speed, they were removed..
The same happened to the animations..

All cut down because for every release I was completely scared of speed issues..
Now its over..

I have decided to divide the whole Incendia stream in two:
1. The standard Incendia, that in every release, has new fractals, new features and the like and
2. Incendia EX, that is an experimental (and expanded) version of Incendia..
In Incendia EX, I will add all of the things that I want, taking little care of the speed at first (features first, optimizations later), then when an EX version turns out to be better than the current Incendia version, it will become the next Incendia release..
For now, the first iteration of Incendia EX is centered on the mesh output..
It's now available to the owners of Incendia HR and to anyone who would like to make a donation to help me continue my work on Incendia.
I must mention that unlike Incendia, Incendia EX iterations(releases) will go faster because I'm adding features and experimenting with them. Those who want it, must be warned, an EX release can happens every week (instead of Incendia that happens every six months or so..) and in some cases, if a feature is not good, it will be removed.
There are several new fractals in actual EX iteration and I will add them to Incendia 1.3 soon
